Late season rain after a warm summer produced just a perfect amount of noble botrytis to enhance the natural fruit flavours without altering its varietal expression. This, plus a short period of lees ageing, have given the wine extra mouth feel and complexity.
On release the wine has a bright lemon hue with a bouquet and flavour that suggest ripe pears, yellow peaches and persimmons. It is rich and unctuous in the mouth but is kept lively and refreshing by a tangy impression of crushed ginger that flows through the palate and draws out its lingering aftertaste.
